Hello,
I am simulating steady-state flow phenomena in ANSYS CFX 14.5. I need to save data files regularly e.g. after every 5000 iterations. Can anyone tell me how I could do that ? Thank you in advance. -Regards, GP |

In Pre in the outline tree open output control, go to the 2nd Tab "Backup" and there you can set what data should be saved in which interval.
The only thing is, if I'm not totally wrong...if you set e.g. an Interval of 5.000 Iterations, he will write a .bak file after 5.000 and when he reaches 10.000 he will write a new one, but delete the old .bak...so you will have to save the bak up file in a new folder by hand everytime it is written ...thats the only way I would know for saving the data in a steady state run |

In addition to backing up your files for a simulation that long, I would also look at what is wrong with the setup or why does it take that long to converge.
1000's of iterations for a segregated solver are common, for a coupled solver they are not unheard off; however, once you reach 10 000's, something may be off somewhere. |

Hello again,
Great...it is working Thank you very much for your suggestions. Now I have what I want. I have written 5000 iterations as an example. My case converges after about few thousands iterations. With regards, GP |
