Hi all,
The titles says it all. I made some multiphase simulation in CFX, I would like to know if there are any better colormaps for post processing these results. to get a better visualization of the interphase between water and air. In 2D, I could reduce the number of colors in colormap. But still struggling in 3D (I know that technically, we lose information, but the case here is to show it to kids). The links for the videos are here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=IydT-t1k8Fg www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h5dmmYxX_o I am at work, I can't verify if these links works, they should. Thanks to all |

The 3D video can be done using volume rendering.
The 2D model can be done by changing the colour map so it has a big blue and red region. Alternately you can use a VF=0.5 contour line to define a user surface, then you can render that surface. This way you get a clearly shown transition from liquid to gas phases with no blurring (even though the simulation will have a bit of blurring of the surface). |

Since we're on the subject of videos, is it possible to have a time stamp on the videos? I.e. if you simulate 2 seconds, can I play a slow-motion video with the time ticker in the corner going from 0 to 2 seconds?

insert text, 'embed auto annotation' and then 'type: time value'

Thank you everyone, I will try glenn's tips. I noticed I'm not receiving e-mail in hotmail for my subscribed threads. not even in the junk section. can someone shoot me a private message, to see if that will work ? thanks again

There is a known problem on the forum that hotmail does not accept emails from the forum. Jonas is looking into it but he did not sound too hopeful last time I talk to him on it. It also stops people from authenticating their account if they use a hotmail account. Very annoying. but not much we can do. It is a problem with the hotmail built in spam filter if I remember correctly.
