Hi,
I'm simulate transient, multicomponent gas inside a containment, no heat transfer. I want the code to solve mass, momentum, TurbKE, Diss.K and mass fraction equations. But I get the error "| ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction". I've checked out the physics of the simulation, initial conditions, etc,. but I coud'nt solve the problem... What does the error mean?? [ The error appears in the first itteration, and I ran the solver using HP MP1 local parall]. | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Compression of block failed because compression is switched of at | | all. | | | | -------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Stopped in routine COLL_COMP_BLKS |

when I run the solver using series mode, the simulation is running, but i got the following information before the 1st step itteration...

These are very unusual errors, I have not seen them before. CFX does not explain its error messages very well, does it?
The serial error is strange as it appears to happen when writing a results file. What happens if you don't write the results file? You are just going to have to guess and turn a few things on and off the find the source of the error. If you feel lucky you can post your CCL on the forum and we can have a look but I give no guarantees that will identify the problem either. |

As the message says:
Quote:
What version of ANSYS CFX are you running ? HP MPI has not been supported for a while. Are you referring to Platform MPI ? Hope the above helps, |

Hi again,
The problem is solved, as Opaque mentioned before, I've modified the settings of file compression under OUTPUT CONTROL to default. I'm running ANSYS 12.0.1 version, HP MPI is supported by this version. At the beginning, the code can't ran the simulation using HP MPI mode because of the C driver was out of space. The problem solved when I made enough free space on the system drive.. Thank you very much for all your help and useful information |

I was getting the "formatted floating point data is only written to single precision accuracy" warning, and I was able to solve it changing compression to default under OUTPUT CONTROL. Thanks a lot Opaque!!
