Hello guys,
I am simulating a centrifugal compressor consists of rotor and stator zones via Ansys CFX 15. when I wanna run the calculation I face with an error which says: '' a negative element volume has been detected ... '' type is steady state and I examined with both stage and frozen rotor models. Also, grid was created by Pointwise software. I would appreciate if someone could help me. |

This error is common in ICEM when people smooth the mesh too much in the mistaken belief that more smoothing is good. I do not know Pointwise/Gridgen very well, but I presume it has the same trap.
I recommend you remesh and do little or no mesh smoothing. |

many thanks for your consideration.
When I wanna run this problem without any rotation part, I mean I try to just check either it works or not, it works without any error, but when I use turbo mode and define centrifugal compressor,.... after all this error is shown. |
