oj.bulmer will become famous soon enough
I have read somewhere that multicore meshing is effective only for very large meshes. WHat is your mesh size?

ICEM can use multiple processors, but only for some parts of the meshing process. But it does help. CFX-Mesh can also do multiple processor but it does it by partitioning the geometry I think and that is a bit harder to set up.

Only a few of the meshing tasks are multi-processor enabled. Most of them still occur single processor.

In my experience multi processing in meshing achieves little. Better to get a big machine with enough memory for the entire thing and get let it chug away. It will gt there in the end.

A 1 million node mesh is not that big. This should run fine without special multi-processor operation.

tnx
by the way do you know how can i define a refinement for some selective elements in domain? Whatever i decrease the sizing element in a surface, there is always some low quality elements with skewness around 1 in it.I don’t know how can i refine this bad elements in the domain as I can’t select them ? Also as i set a face sizing future with sphere of influence it makes lots of elements which i don’t need and also still doesn’t change the maximum skewness factor. I think there is a lake of something like a selection tool in ansys meshing in all versions of this software since ansys workbench 9 !. I don’t know why they don’t do anything about this . can u help me by this? I need a clue

regards in advance

I would try the ANSYS geometry and meshing forum.

I see - but I cannot help you much I fear. All I can recommend is to get familiar with all the meshing options and try them all out. There is no substitute for experience.

And lastly - do not be afraid to subtly modify your geometry to make it easier to mesh. Removing a small misalignment which does not affect the flow and replacing it with a simpler face can make all the difference.
