hi guys,
I'm running cfx 14, pre post solver and turbogrid without any problems on a 6 core i7 machine with ubuntu 12.04 64 bit. when I try to run the same case in local parallel i get this issue: An error has occurred in cfx5solve: A ANSYS CFX Partitioner executable is required for this run, but none is available. I already looked for this issue but i found nothing usefull...can someone help me please? thanks in advance! p.s from x86info i get this: WARNING: Detected SMP, but unable to access cpuid driver. Used Uniprocessor CPU routines. Results inaccurate. |

Have you read the supported linux releases in the documentation?

yes, I know that few OS are supported...anyway I would like to understand is someone can run a local parallel run on an another linux os.
I would like also to understand which are the post-installation steps that has to be done in order to have a local parallel run. Thanks you in advance! |

You should use -partitioner command line option when starting cfx5solve. And manually point to part executable, for ex. /ansys_inc/v145/CFX/bin/cfx5solve -partitioner /ansys_inc/v145/CFX/bin/linux-amd64/int64/partitioner.exe -def $defFile -start-method "Platform MPI Distributed Parallel" -par-dist $nodes -size 1.4 $ini. Tested on Debian 7.1.

Hi everybody. I've found the same problem with CFX14 and debian wheezy. I tried to follow what suggest u22 but it doesn't work. this is the error: "Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /ansys_inc/v140/CFX/bin//perllib/CFX5/Simulation/ConfigSettings.pm line 835". Someone can help me?
thanks |

Greetings from the future!
Most probably, you tried to run cfx5solve with its alias, not with the full path. This leads in 2024 still to the exact same failure message you described. There is a cfx5solve executable also in Code:
/mnt/software/ansys_inc/v241/CFD-Post/bin/cfx5solve The correct executable, however, is in Code:
/mnt/software/ansys_inc/v241/CFX/bin/cfx5solve cfx5solve points to whatever path comes first in your path variable. So be sure to work with absolute paths or change your path variable accordingly. Please mind! Ansys might be installed to a path different than /mnt/software. Please change accordingly. |
