Hello
First of all, I am not familiar with CFX nor similar software . I am here to ask your kind help on a task that I was asked by my supervisor to do: He wants to know the possibility to use ANSYS CFX to model the electromagnetic emissions for hot mediums such as oven and blast furnace, model their spectrum, and calculate the intensities considering their interaction with dispersive mediums. Thank you |

If you mean radiative heat transfer, then yes, CFX has several models to cover that. Have a look in the tutorials and the documentation. This includes models which cover different spectrums - but you won't find any tutorials on that, you will have to read the documentation on that one.

Thanks ghorrocks
I mean the spectrum and density of radiation emitted from a hot medium (e.g. oven interior) after passing through a medium consists of mixer of gases. The spectrum and intensity calculation should mainly take into account the scattering effect by the gas particles in the second medium. Regarding the CFX documentation, I do not have the software discs nor publications, I am just trying to get hold of the available documents over the internet. Thank again |

CFX can do everything you are asking about - scattering, different gas properties, different spectrums.
The software documentation is also available for V14 at in the commonfiles/help directory. If you are on an older version of CFX <CFX_ROOT>/help I think it was. |

CFX should be able to do this. Please start a new thread for a new topic and describe in detail what you are trying to do.
