Dear friends
I have a very basic questions which I cannot come to the conclusion what is the difference between absolute pressure, Pressure and Total pressure. When shall I measure pressure and when shall i measure Total pressure ? Let's say a sensor is placed in the middle of the flow, what shall i use to specify pressure ( pressure or total pressure or absolute pressure) Regards Govind |

In CFX these variables are defined as:
* Absolute pressure is the.... absolute static pressure * Pressure is the static pressure above the reference pressure * Total pressure is the pressure plus the dynamic head. For what these terms mean and what sensors would read have a look in any fluid mechanics textbook. That is really basic stuff. |
