The impeller(S) was modelled in solidworks and an existing fluid equation (code) is to be embedded into the solidworks flow simulation using microsoft visual studio.

i've worked with solidworks flow simulation before and it is notoriously not good for accurately predicting rotating impellers. I can help you out if you are open to working with Fluent or Autodesk Simulation CFD. We can still use the impellers you've modeled in Solidworks to use in those packages.

Hi Robert,
That is not correct. I assume your boundary conditions and mesh were not good enough. I know of our customers that use the software in automotive turbocharger industry and get very accurate results. Also in the aerospace industry. There was recently a benchmark done by a russian institute comparing our results against measurements and Fluent. See for yourself: http://www.mentor.com/products/mecha...tor-simulation Yes, that is a helicopter blade but the same accuracy we get for impeller in pumps as well as fans and other impeller like applications. Regards, Boris |
