Does anyone know how I can define an animation in fluent12 for a unsteady case? I know how to do it in fluent 6, but in fluent 12 menus are changed.

Hy!

I'm trying to do this right now, but something is still wrong (but I gues not the animation is the reason)

Theoretically:
-->initialize the solution first
-->then: calculation activities-->solution animations-->create/edit
don't forget to switch the interval to "every timestep"

Somehow I still have some problems, but I hope in your computalions it's going to work. Please tell me if it's OK, cause it will help me

Regards,

Patrícia

I'm guessing you guys have figured it out and moved on already but here's my two cents:

Initialize solution and then go to calculation activities and choose Create/Edit under Solution Animations. Then activate a sequence and choose "time step" as "When." Then set up your storage type/display type settings.

Once the solution is done calculating, go to the Calculation Activities and then Create/Edit, edit your display type and then click "display." Now go back to Graphics and Animations and select Solution Animation Playback, then Setup. You can now replay your solution.

This is the way it has worked for me before but I haven't tried it recently. Also, when I wrote the playback to MPEG, the Temperature/Pressure scale on the left side of the display didn't show up. Dunno why.
