Hello Ansys users...
I am using Ansys Acoustics (ACT Extension) in Ansys Workbench to perform an Acoustic Induced Vibration Analysis (AIV). Basically, the problem I encountered is on modeling stage. Apparently, the Acoustic FSI interface can only be used for solid element as far as I've learned. To describe my system, basically I modeled a spherical enclosure (as my fluid domain) and I modeled cylindrical pipe (solid element). This works fine. But I want to use a surface (shell) element for a cylindrical pipe to save some computational effort (using the thin/surface) feature in Design Modeller and Mid-surface creation. But ultimately it does not map the acoustic pressures in shell/surface element so stresses are 0. Unlike the solid element where it can map the acoustic pressures and equivalent stress works fine. Does anyone have encountered same situation and what is the work around to use the shell element for the cylindrical pipe. What I can see is the fluid enclosure interface only with the solid element. Another thing, I think of is that since the shell surface element is taken originally from solid element, then the mother body is still the solid element so the enclosure reads the solid element as the interface body. So maybe if I can create a shell element independently not from a solid body then maybe it will work. But I don't know how to do this. Any opinion is highly appreciated. Cheers!!! |
