I have done a transient 2D analysis of a flat plate in normal flow. I have 400 .cas files, one file for each timestep.
I managed to load these results in CFD-Post, but when I try to plot a contour plot, vector, anything at all CFD-Post does not plot anything. The progress bar indicates that something is happening, but I see no results. For the contour for example I've tried all "Location" (interior, wall, symmetry 1, symmetry 2, etc...) but nothing worked. The things I tried are based on the tutorial given [here] I have the feeling that I miss a simple setting, could someone help me a bit further please? |

I've figured it out. There's some sort of bug with CFD post where on some machines it will not draw the plot to screen, but when you save the image as a .png the plot is there.

Hi;
Im trying to set up a view like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4jHIAfHG6Y But i could not do it. So i cant create an animation file like this. I tried iso-surface, contour , isovolume but i could not achieve it. Thank you. |

But did you manage to run a simulation simulating this? Do you have cdat files?
If so, have you tried a volume rendering of your water? It's found under `Locations` |

i think its not volume randering . if you look at, it is not formed by a number of stages,it is continuous. It is a cfx run i have all trn files.Do you have another solution ?

Not sure what you mean by, "it is continuous". Every animation is formed by frames which represent a number of stages. If you play these number of stages sequentially you will get an animation. Here are the basics for making an animation in CFD-Post, I hope it's useful for you. If you have other questions, please make it concrete and describe your situation as full as possible.

Main problem is to see free surface exactly. Volume randering is formed by different number of contours.not contuninuous means that. If you any two phase solution data could you you try these methods and try to catch view that i give by link( one picture is enaugh, no need animation) .

I unfortunately do not have two phase solution data and have never worked with it. Try posting your question in the ANSYS forum. Make it as concrete as possible asking exactly what you want to know. Good luck.

No, no error message. But as I state in my second image this must be some kind of incompatibility between CFD-Post and the machine I'm running on. The image is there when I export it as .png.
