[ANSYS Meshing] Creating named selections in ANSYS

Hi,

I had some issue on creating different sections on my fluid model.

As you can see from the picture, I would like to create a new named selection on the section as pointed by the arrow but was unable to do so as the cylinder is a whole part itself.

I had attempted to draw the sections separately but problems occurs when i attempted to mesh to model as the region of contact between the sections has very low meshing quality.

My final goal in here is to create named selection on that section so that i can define a new boundary condition for me to use it at Fluent later. I would appreciate any help that is given

Create a sketch in the plane above the cylinder or on the surface of the cylinder, and then extrude the sketch... But instead of using the option to Add Material, choose "imprint surface" instead.

This will create a separate surface patch for you to select, but without actually subdividing the body...

Please I am facing this same issue. My named selection is not displaying in the fluent. Please help me out
