Dear all,

I am getting poor quality mesh as can be seen in the attached picture.

Poor quality increases when I increase the number of cells or the bias factor of the edges towards the wall.

I am a beginner in this field, so I would really appreciate your help or advice in generating a good quality mesh!

Thank you!

Can u upload an image of how the mesh looks? Maybe in an isometric view? Do you use inflation layer at the walls?

Hello zacko,
I have attached the photo.

No, I did not use inflation at the walls. I simply used biasing using a bias factor of 45.0 to account for the first cell height which was around 0.32 microns.
I believe inflation does not work with face meshing (structured mesh)? Do correct me if I am wrong!

It is a 3D geometry, correct?
I think inflation should work, but instead of selection your wall as surface, you can use an edge instead and create the layer there.

Anyways, can you zoom in more to see how the elements look in the region where the bad quality is supposed to be? How about starting from new without all these many mesh refinements

Its a 2D geometry. Thanks for the suggestion!
