Hi all,

I have a geometry of a wing made of surfaces in catia using multi-section surfaces and fill. I don't seem to be able to transform it to a solid body on ansys fluent.

I tried to sew them using body operation but it always results in a surface and shows a warning: not all bodies could be sewn into a solid body.

Is there any way to transform my surfaces into a solid body?

Thank you all

Do you have Ansys SpaceClaim installed? It may be able to repair the imported geometry.
Can you fill these surfaces in DesignModeller instead of catia? You can create a surface from an edge loop. If this works, then you don't need the surfaces which were created in Catia.
If all of this does not work, can you make a small example? Create a simpler wing in catia and if it still has the same problem then attach it to your next post.

Hi Светлана,

Thank you for your reply.
I have spaceclaim installed but I've never used it before. How can I correct the geometry on spaceclaim ?

I can't fill the geometry in design modeler. I have a clean version of the wing that I've created similar to this one on catia. The clean version works totally fine in ansys and I can make it a solid body without difficulties.

Hi KLA

There is a short intro here
https://www.ansystips.com/2018/05/cl...paceclaim.html

Could just go to the repair tab in spaceclaim and check everything (e.g. click each button), for a half of these buttons it says no problem found, for the other half it fixes something.

If the geometry is not confidential, attaching it here may be fruitful in case someone would like to give it a go.

Regards,
Svetlana

Thank you very much Светлана.

Spaceclaim repair function worked fine for my geometry. I was able to create a solid automaticaly by repairing the geometry.

Thank you again.
