Hi,

I am getting the following error message when I try to start CFX Setup (CFX-Pre):
"The file from which the mesh is to be imported does not exist. "
"Unable to import the requested mesh"

I saved my project in Mesh. In the Workbench/File panel it shows there is a CFX.mshdb in folder ....dp0/CFX/MECH

Even when I try to export and then import into CFX-Pre does not work.

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

Try importing the mesh file in the standalone cfxpre.. Not through workbench

Thank you for the answer!
How can I do it?

(I tried to export the mesh in .cgns and then import it into CFX-Pre but it still stops with error message.)

In the workbench, there is a component 'FE modeler'... In the workbench, transfer your mesh from ansys meshing to FE modeler... From FE modeler, export outside to cfx pre supportable format... Close the workbench... Open Cfx-pre seperatly and import that mesh..

I tried. The mesh is exported, CFX-Pre started outside of the workbench, mesh then I tried to import it into CFX-pre. But there is a warning message: "The selected file does not exist. Please choose a new file."

But the file does exist. It is there with .fedb extension and 241664 bytes...

What am I doing wrong?

+ what is more "funny" that whatever file I choose the message is the same...

Hello,
I have the same problem when importing a mesh in CFX-Pre.
Have you already found a solution?

Thank you!

I used to get this problem sometimes... But it got solved wen I imported in standalone cfx-pre..
Also very first after installing the software I got this problem.. That was solved by by giving the administrative rights to the workbench default folder.. I mean u may not have the full rights to the folder where the workbench reads and writes.. Check that and tell me

Thank you so much!! It was actually more complicated than that: the folder where I was saving my projects wasn't inside the ANSYS Inc folder. So I moved it there and, as you said, chaged the ANSYS folder's administrative rights and included my user. Finally, I allowed the user to write in the folder.

And that's it.

Once again: Thank you

I have the same problem. I changed the rights and removed any write protection from the folder and subfolders...
