Hi guys,
I am new to ICEM, so I'll try to explain my problem as clear as possible: I need to mesh a 2D cylindrical pipe (0.1 m diameter), so I did sketch a rectangular shape with height = 0.05 m (I want to simulate an axisymmetric flow so I'll draw only half pipe). The length of the pipe is what will "generate" my problem with this kind of meshing . In the first case I have L = 0.5 m and I setup the dynamic curve meshing as reported in the first picture. As you can see, the meshing process did ok. Since I need a much longer pipe (10 metres, the diameter is the same), I repeated the same process but I got the problem represented in the second picture, i.e. the number of nodes of the vertical lines is wrong (it was supposed to be 15 instead of 8). So does anyone know how to help me solve this ? I'm sorry if the question may seem stupid but as I said I'm an absolute beginner. Thank you very much for the attention ! |

Global Mesh Setup > Shell meshing > Patch dependent > Respect line elements
And if you are a complete beginner you should be doing tutorials just to get a basic idea. From there you can move on to doing your own stuff. Just saying though |
