Hi,
I designed a model of turbine. Now, I want to mesh this model. Therefore, I should have a sufficient number of layers in boundary layer. But I dont know that what number consider. For this reason, I have to know value of Dimensionless height of boundary layer thickness until I can calculate value of thickness of boundary layer. And also, I have to know value of growth factor for meshing. I am grateful that guide me about these values and if it is possible, please place useful links about these subjects. On the other hand, I want to use from K-e turbulence model with wall function. Thanks, Best, Amir |

you can estimate BL thickness over a flat plate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boundary-layer_thickness you don't need to give exact values for you case, it is just a way to capture the BL with a fine and nice mesh. around your body. Once you get converged solution you will see if your mesh around your body is good or not
