Hi everybody. I did my meshing using ICEM, I want to import it to ANSYS apdl. Now I have my mesh in .msh and .uns formats. Is there any way to convert it to a suitable format for apdl?

Hi,

Well you have several options to achieve what you want, I give you one that I use.

If you're working with the WB then simply add a "FE modeler" and browse your .uns mesh that you've created with ICEM (you can select the mesh type, in your case .uns). Then simply link the FE modeler with ADPL and update it.

Hi Gweher,

I am preparing my mesh into ICEM, importing it into APDL according to your suggestion. It seems to load the mesh perfectly, but when I wanted to select areas/lines to apply boundary conditions, it says area/lines doesn't exists. Can you please let me know how can I make the mesh behave as it does when I run the analysis entirely from APDL?

Best,
Abdullah

Hi Abdullah,

Have you found a way to solve your problem? Could you share with me about that?

Yours,

Alam
