Hi guys! I really need a hand here, hope you can help the newcomer =D
I've got this geometry (it is an aircraft engine nacelle) in .CATPart extension but we don't have a Catia license here at university. I've managed to open it in Solidworks and it works fine, all the surfaces are there as "imported surfaces" and I'm able to select surfaces boundaries and points. I'll have to export this geometry to ICEM for meshing, so here's the question: does meshers such as ICEM recognize these "imported surfaces"? Should I convert these entities into something before exporting the geometry? Thanks a lot guys! Cheers |

Have you tried to Save As>Parasolid ?
A Parasolid or an IGES file easily imports into ICEM most of the time.
