I am now trying to build mesh for a 2D 3-bladed VAWT, however i encounter boundary condition problems.

I build one third of the rotating domain (120 degree) and then copy and rotate it to get the full area. Unfortunately, 3 independent domains emerge and i can not set them as a whole (they are in fact a rotating domain).

Someone proposed to use periodic settings, but also the boundary condition problems will occur.

How can i fix the boundary condition problems

Many thx.

Have you resolved the problem pollenhavy? I am also working on a three bladed VAWT for my thesis. I already built 1/3 of my turbine and subsequently generated its mesh. My problem now is, when i try to copy rotate the mesh and merge the nodes, only the original 1/3 portion has the line elements. It would not appear to the other two copy rotated parts. I am trying to fix the problem by checking the mesh and fixing uncovered faces. However, the airfoil boundaries would also join the line elements for the inner fluid interface. Please help me go forward with my work.. Thanks so much in advance.
