Hi all,
i'm trying to mesh a nozzle connected to an ambient volume; you can see the geometry pic attached. The nozzle have a small injector connected in the divergent. In the pics you can see the actual blocking and the premesh. I have managed to mesh the nozzle correctly using an O-grid, but i'm not able to mesh correctly the front faces of the ambient volume; as you can see in the premesh pic, i have several distorsion. Is there a way to mesh the front faces? Thank you! It's always difficult to give a good advice without .tin and .blk-files. So it would be very helpful, if you could supply them.
But one for sure: you've to insert another o-grid to resolve circular shape of the outer volume. I can't see the details, you're talking about on your pics. So please supply the files or give us some more detailled pics. Regards Christoph |

Some advance blocking techniques were needed to get this mesh.
Like creating three o-blocking, deleting few blocks permanently and few without permanent option. Deleted middle o-block, merged vertices, some were not merged. Extrude along curves option was also used. You can further improve quality by adjusting edge mesh parameters and vertices. |

You can use your old blocking effectively if you change your outer domain into rectangular shape. Every will be perfect !!!
I am also attaching the intermediate blockings so that you can understand where to start and what to do step by step. Especially pay attention on blocking 3 and blocking 4 where I made three O blocks and deleted middle o-block. b Also 5 to 10 where I am performing merge operations and association to edges. Blocking 12 with extrude along curve for. Compare blocking 10 with 12 inside the nozzle. Do not follow blocking 17. First I tried to make the blocking in the injector. Then I deleted and instead first made the o-blocking in side the nozzle and carried into towards the far-field. Then extrude the blocking for the injector pipe and then made the o-blocking for the injector. Got it??? Hope it helps. |
