Hi,
i generated a mesh with Ansys Meshing tool (Workbench v14). It is a quasi 2D mesh with a sweep of 1 Cell of a rotationally symmetric problem. I used sweep as method and applied some inflations, face and edge sizing, so basically i ve a quasi 2D unstructured mesh with some local refinements.
I would like to do a mesh independency study and want to refine the global mesh by a constant factor.
Is there any way to do that, or do i need to change the sizing of all my applied sizing functions individually.

You can change it by increasing the relevance number in the defaults section, that will increase the density

If you want to know what happens, especially which cell size you get for a mesh independency study, forget about "physical relevance" or whatever global method provided by the ansys mesher.

Since your mesh doesn't seem to be too complex, changing the parameters of the edge sizings seems to be the appropriate method.
Remember to set the behavior of the sizing functions to "hard", otherwise the ansys mesher might just ignore your input if it thinks it can create a "better" mesh with some arbitrary values.

do u set all ur sizing functions to hard?
since i just do it for some i do prioritise since some times i need to ve at least 2 different sizings, eg one for the edge size for a boundary layer and one for the element size of the elements outside the boundary layer.

If I wanted to plot certain values of the simulation against the cell size to check for mesh independency, I would definitely set the sizing functions to "hard".

If this is too much work because the geometry is slightly complex, I would not use the ansys mesher for mesh generation.
