This is a very basic question, but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere in the various guides provided by ANSA. They start using these words without any definition. What are entities, elements, property, ENT and PID in ANSA?

Let's answer it one by one ..
The easy one is PID and property: its the property ID .. which usually used to set the BC in CFD Platforms. which will store some information about geometrical entities and then used when you set up your model for CFD for example. ENT and entities: they are the same and refer to any ANSA entities such as a face, point, curve, meshed element, set actually anything can consider as entities. Element: is referring to meshed elements, and usually used for Volume elements. Apologies if I mistakenly confused some terminology, but it will be nice if you clarify your question... what exactly you are trying to do for example? |
