A Ph.D. studentship is available in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University. The student will work with Dr. Jun-Hong Liang (https://faculty.lsu.edu/liang/) on one of the funded projects. Our current projects include: Turbulence and Mixing in the upper ocean Impact of offshore wind farm on ocean environment Bubbly flows in the ocean and their role in air-sea gas transfer Biogeochemical cycling in the coastal ocean Application of ML/AI to improve ocean models Applicants are expected to have solid academic training in one or more of the following subjects: environmental/geophysical fluid dynamics, CFD, oceanography, coastal engineering, hydraulics, or atmospheric dynamics.
