Research Direction:
The research contents include multiphase flow simulation, Quadrature-based moments method(QBMM), module optimization and integration of QBMM, CFD-PBE coupling development technology. And the focus is on the application of QBMM method in boiling heat transfer, as well as the simulation of polydisperse particle flow, aerosol and flash flow.

Academic year system and benefits for PhD:
o The duration of education is 4 years.

Academic year system and benefits for Postdoc:
o Applicants should meet the basic application requirements for postdoctoral positions at GTIIT. And applicants must have obtained a doctoral degree or will be able to obtain a doctoral degree in the near future.
o The salary is implemented in accordance with the postdoctoral management policies of GTIIT. In addition, the research group will provide additional subsidies based on work ability and performance to relieve postdoctoral worries. The specific salary can be discussed in person.
o The research group actively supports and guides postdoctoral applicants and postdoctoral fellows on site to apply for various postdoctoral talent support programs.

Selection Criteria:
o Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Aerospace is essential.
o Strong background in experimental fluid dynamics and/or computational fluid dynamics is preferable.
o Experiences with Multiphase flow CFD simulation and/or the use and development of OpenFOAM is preferable.
o Published SCI papers is preferable.
o Good communication skills, good command of English (essential).
o Be honest and trustworthy, diligent in learning, proactive, conscientious and responsible, and have a team spirit(essential).

About the research group:
Prof. Bo Kong graduated from the Department of Energy Engineering at Zhejiang University with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. He graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Iowa State University with a Ph.D. After graduating from the Ph.D., he conducted postdoctoral research in multiphase flow reaction engineering at the U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Prof. Bo Kong has been engaged in multiphase flow experiments and simulations for many years, including gas-liquid, liquid-liquid and gas-solid flow. He has rich experience in experimental measurements and numerical simulations. The laboratory has built a multi-phase process intensified experimental platform and a multi-phase intensified simulation laboratory, with sufficient funds for scientific research.
