The School of Energy and Power Engineering at University of Shanghai for Science
& Technology was founded in 1960. Through 40 years of construction and
development, the school has developed into a multi-discipline high reputation
institute in China and provides undergraduate programs in Thermal Energy and
Power Engineering with the following research direction: Power Machinery and
Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Thermal Engineering Automation, Refrigeration
and Cryogenic Techniques and so on. The Wind /Water Current Energy Research
Group (WERG) at School of Energy and Power Engineering has unique expertise and
capabilities to conduct research in the advancement of wind or water current
turbine science and systems. At present, the research team is equipped with a
wide variety of advanced computational and experimental tools and is mainly
engaged in numerical and experimental research on fluid mechanics and
thermodynamics of turbomachinery, rotor aerodynamics of wind turbines and water
current turbines. During the last few years, the research group has completed
many projects and the excellence of the group has been recognized through many
awards and honors.
