The Flow Simulation & Flow Physics Lab at Villanova University is pleased to 
announce an opening for a fully-funded PhD position, with a focus on Large Eddy 
Simulation (LES) applied to biological and physiological flows. We invite 
applications from enthusiastic, committed, and intellectually curious candidates 
who hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a 
related field. The successful candidate will be expected to commence their 
doctoral studies in either the Spring or Fall semester of 2024.

Essential Qualifications:
• A strong academic foundation in numerical methods for PDEs
• Substantial hands-on experience in programming, specifically with Fortran 
and/or C++

Desirable Attributes:
• Prior experience in turbulence modeling and high-order schemes will be 
considered a significant asset
