The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University Rovira i Virgili of Tarragona is looking for an outstanding and committed candidate for PhD studies in the field of computational and experimental fluid dynamics. PROJECT TITLE: Numerical modelization and/or experimental study of multiphase flows. REQUIREMENTS: Candidate should have a graduate degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics or physics subject, and be highly motivated to undertake research in this field. Candidates with a background in computational and/or experimental fluid dynamics are strongly encouraged to apply. STUDENTSHIP: Gross monthly payment of the contract during the first year of 28.799,26€, plus the corresponding fees for thesis supervision. DURATION: contracts will have an initial duration of one year and will be twice extended for another year up to a total period of three years provided that the thesis supervisor has submitted a favourable report and in accordance with the academic committee of the doctoral programme. The thesis will be developed in the Doctoral Program Nanoscience, Materials and Chemical Engineering. The aim of this programme is to provide future professionals with a strong sense of innovation in nanoscience, materials chemistry and chemical engineering who are especially oriented towards conducting research in public institutions or industry. Research lines include nano(bio)technology, biosensors, lasers, fluid mechanics, heterogeneous catalysis and all areas of chemical engineering, such as process and product engineering, transport phenomena, environmental science, biotechnology and food technology. The programme strengthens students’ research capabilities through theoretical and/or experimental project while stressing the importance of disseminating and publishing results, promoting mobility and academic exchanges and encouraging collaboration with local and national industries.
