Multiple graduate research assistant openings are available in the Micro/nano-
Engineering Laboratory at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. The positions 
are for M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and/or Ph.D. in Computational Engineering 
(starting salary range: $21.000-$25.000). Projects are in collaboration with Oak 
Ridge National Laboratories. Students interested in fluid dynamics, heat 
transfer, material science, nanoscale transport phenomena, or molecular and 
interfacial phenomena are welcome to apply. Prior experience in computational 
work and programming skills are valued. Students with mechanical, aerospace,

Nanotechnology offers groundbreaking applications in physical and natural 
sciences. Recent advances provide revolutionary nano-materials/systems whose 
properties can be customized. There are several examples from the literature for 
various purposes. For example, porous materials offer unique possibilities for 
new functional materials with tunable thermal and mechanical properties, such as

importance.
