Postdoc fellow/Research Associate on Experimental 
We are looking for Ph.D. graduates with a strong background in laboratory 
experiments on fluid mechanics, with the following requirements: 
•	Graduated no more than five years.
•	PhD in hydraulic engineering or related discipline
•	Strong theoretical and experimental background in fluid mechanics, 
multiphase flows, and related fields
•	Proficiency in designing and conducting laboratory experiments to 
investigate fluid dynamics and multiphase phenomena
•	Experience with state-of-the-art experimental techniques such as Particle 
Image Velocimetry (PIV), Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA), and high-speed imaging
•	Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
•	Expertise in data acquisition, processing, and analysis using software such 
as MATLAB, Python, and/or LabVIEW
•	Laboratory experience in Pneumatic Mixing Flow or mudflow transportation is 
a plus. 
•	Familiarity with numerical simulation tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or 
OpenFOAM is a plus
•	Knowledge of relevant safety protocols for laboratory experiments
•	Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with 
other researchers and students
•	Excellent track records and publication in quality journals
The location of the job is the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at 
the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered upon the employee's 
background.
The contract duration will be for two years, but upon mutual interest, it can be 
extended.
