Pusan National University is one of South Korea’s top most national university 
which offers a variety of courses in the field of Engineering, Law, Finance and 
Global studies etc.

Large Scale Computational Thermo-Fluid Dynamics Lab and Computational MultiFluid 
Dynamics Lab at Pusan National University & Rolls-Royce and Pusan National 
University Technology Centre (RRUTC) in Thermal Management & LG University 
Future Research Center (UFRC) in Thermal System Design are looking for aspirant 
students (Holding a bachelor/master degree in Mechanical Engineering) for master 
and doctoral degree courses who are willing to take up new cutting edge research 

Large Scale Computational Thermo-Fluid Dynamics Lab, Computational Multi-Fluid 
Dynamics Lab, Rolls-Royce PNU UTC and LG UFRC are labs and research centers 
under School of Mechanical Engineering dedicated to wide range of research 
activities both academic and industrial. The labs and centers mainly focus on 
the following research areas:

Computational Fluid Dynamics, Multi-phase flow, Molecular dynamics (MD), 
Artificial neural network (ANN) and Deep learning, Advanced heat exchanger 
design, Heat pipes, Topology optimization, and Phase change material (PCM).
Thermal management for power and energy system (High Temperature High Pressure, 
Cryogenic, Gas turbine, HVAC&R, Marine, Nuclear)

Required profile:
 Holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering for M.S.
 Holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering for Ph.D.
 Excellent Programming (FORTRAN, C/C++ or Python for In-house codes and ANN).
 Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects.
 Experiences in the commercial CFD codes (e.g. Ansys-Fluent with UDF 
customization) and/or open source CFD codes (e.g. OpenFOAM) are preferred for 
the Ph.D. program applicants.
 Experience in carrying out experimental analysis in thermal management.
