Spar Systems is developing a revolutionary technology for generating power from
low-temperature waste heat. Data centers, with their large energy consumption
and low-temperature thermal waste, are the primary beachhead market. We estimate
potential impact of millions of metric tons of CO2 abatement and 100s of
terawatt-hours of energy savings through this technology. We have received a
Department of Energy grant to develop this patented technology to commercial
readiness. We also have an active partnership with a National Lab and recently
closed our first round of pre-seed financing.
We are looking for leading engineers to join our team and accelerate the
development and commercialization of our technologies. This role is for the Lead
Product Engineer.
You will be responsible for transforming conceptual models into physical
products and components. You will lead prototyping, testing, validation and
production efforts. Experience and knowledge of new product development, with
prior experience bringing hardware products to market, within small, high-impact
teams is expected. You will work both on the drawing board and the workbench,
translating ideas to practical constructs. Resourcefulness, creativity, speed,
adaptability and a love for building machines are requisites.
Specific skills expected, though not required, include: CAD modeling, CFD,
prototype development, DFA/DFM, failure mode analysis/debugging, experiment
design, product engineering, production/manufacturing management and new product
commercialization. You will have access to the full suite of Siemens CAE tools
including STAR-CCM+, Simcenter 3D, NX, Amesim etc.
You will get early equity in the company, with potential for founder level
impact. Selected candidates will be those who we see as part of our mission for
the next 5-10 years.
Position can be potentially remote, but candidates located in the greater NYC
area (within 1.5 hours of NYC) will be preferred.
