Job Description: The data-driven modeling and optimization lab at Louisiana State
University (https://datadrivenatlsu.com/) is working on a project which seeks to
build a fundamental understanding of a biomass dewatering process. We are
seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to help us create data-based
and computational models which will help gain a better
understanding of the process. This position will be for an initial one-year
term, with the potential of subsequent renewals.
Job Responsibilities: Create CFD and data-driven models, lead or assist
preparation of peer-reviewed publications, support bi-weekly and quarterly
reporting to our industry partner, and support proposal writing. Mentor and
train undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in fluid dynamics, computational/mathematical modeling, and
heat transfer.
• Experience using open-source and commercial CFD codes (e.g., ANSYS, OpenFOAM,
etc.).
• Experience with scientific code development using software/programming
languages: e.g., FORTRAN, C/C++, MATLAB, Python, etc.
