Corrdesa is a small, expanding high technology company that develops and sells 
corrosion prediction software, consultancy services and custom hardware to help 
our clients reduce and mitigate corrosion risk in design and sustainment, 
primarily in aerospace, defense and a growing automotive sector.
Corrdesa’s primary business is in the areas of electrochemical simulation 
relating to coatings  and material test methods, degradation and corrosion. 

Job description
We are looking for a motivated self-starter with experience in CFD applications 
for multi-physics problems as well as with CAE modeling tools such as 
Solidworks, NX, SpaceClaim, Star-CCM+, CAD modeler and Pointwise. The successful 
candidate must have experience in pre-processing and CAD cleanup with complex 
parts. 

The position requires working with senior technical staff developing complex CFD 
models for a number of parallel running projects, so team working as well as the 
ability to self-manage time and multiple projects is essential.
Domestic or International travel to military depots and customer sites may be 
required.

Reporting to the Senior CFD Engineer, responsibilities include:

•	Development and execution of CFD simulations (pre-processing, setup and 
post processing)
•	Reporting both written and verbal 
•	Supporting proposal writing and project execution
•	Conducting literature reviews to understand the state of the art in 
electrochemical simulation for industrial applications
•	Excellent technical writing and communication skills are required for 
effective interactions with customers (civilian and military), suppliers and 
subcontractors/manufacturers.

Qualifications/Experiences
•	Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Mechanical, Aerospace or Process 
engineering, with concentration in thermal fluids, or computational thermal 
sciences from an accredited university or a Bachelors with at least 5 years of 
work experience in academia or an industrial R&D setting.

•	Applicant MUST be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. permanent resident (Green 
Card holder) at the point of application due to government program requirements.

 
Preferred Skills
•	Understanding of fundamentals of fluid dynamics and numerical 
computations
•	Understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid flows , multiphase, and 
numerical analysis
•	Understanding of chemistry, electrochemistry knowledge (but training can 
be provided)
•	Familiarity with commercial CFD software – Siemens Star-CCM+ preferred 
but not essential as training/support can be provided
•	Experience in pre-processing and CAD clean-up with complex parts with 
Pointwise or similar
•	Ideal candidate must have strong CAE modeling experience with Inventor, 
Solidworks, Catia, NX or similar. 
•	Familiarity with HPC environments, Linux preferred.
•	Languages – JAVA, Python, Bash Scripting, C++, etc
•	Experience with application of morphing and overset meshes an advantage
•	Experience writing technical reports / papers
•	Proficient in standard MS Office software and basic statistical concepts
•	Attention to detail
•	Demonstrated ability to take theoretical constructs and apply them to 
real-world problem solving
•	Ability to work simultaneously on long-term and short-term projects
