Application Support Engineer

Due to internal advancement, Ricardo Software is looking to hire an experienced 
Application Support Engineer with a background in computational fluid dynamics 
to join our global support team, specialising in the support of our WAVE 
solution.

Reporting directly to the Head of Customer Support, this role can be based in 
Prague or the United Kingdom from where you will be responsible for supporting 
our new and existing clients when they have problems or are looking for that 
extra level of expertise in our software to support their own project efforts.

Driven by a desire for a great customer experience, your energetic and customer 
centric attitude will drive you seek the best outcomes for our clients whilst, 
as a specialist in your area, you will also be contributing to other functions 
such as user testing before product releases, paid training engagements and 
Application Engineering for revenue generating products.

As an SME in your area, you will be comfortable coaching other members of the 
team and proactively identifying areas of improvement; whilst simultaneously 
seeking training opportunities for yourself to enable you to support our wider 
business as required.

Successful Candidate Attributes and Responsibilities

·       Extensive experience in an Application Support role with a provable work 
history in troubleshooting complex issues. Ideally you will also have an 
awareness of ITIL standards however this is not a requirement.

·       Utilising your background in CFD, you can create and troubleshoot 
complex models and ideally have some experience with our WAVE solution.

·       Degree in a relevant scientific, technical or engineering related 
subject.

·       You are customer obsessed and proactively identify areas for improvement 
in the way our clients interact with us.

·       Thoughtful, clear communication is a skill of yours; being able to 
communicate complex messages effectively with clients (internal and external) 
and key stakeholders at their level of understanding both via written word 
(Email, Helpdesk updates) or in face-to-face client meetings (Teams or client 
site).

·       Being mindful of SLA’s and KPI’s you are a skilled multi-tasker who can 
handle multiple, shifting, and competing priorities.

·       As this role will occasionally support our Presales team, you are 
comfortable liaising with clients at all levels up to and including senior 
management.

·       You have worked with an ITSM tool such as Freshdesk before and 
understand the various stages of ticket management.

·       The ability to travel within Europe as required in the role (only when 
safe to do so following Covid)

·       Fluency in English is a requirement for this role. An additional 
language i.e., Chinese or Japanese would be beneficial but not a requirement.
