Caponnetto Hueber (CH) is an innovation and technological laboratory 
specialized in R&D, fluid dynamics and energy efficiency. The company 
provides naval architecture solutions, innovative concepts, fluid dynamics 
services and products for the maritime world.
Caponnetto Hueber main topics of expertise are hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, 
shapes optimization, numerical simulations (CFD) and innovation to increase 
performance, efficiency, comfort or lower consumption and emissions.
Caponnetto and Hueber have been involved with America’s Cup for more than 2 
decades and havewon it in 2010 and 2013. During the last America’s Cup, 
Caponnetto Hueber was responsible of the foils design and provided all the 
numerical simulations for the Italian Challenger, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, 
design team.
Over the years, Caponnetto Hueber have become a reference in racing, 
foiling, efficient, low and 0-emissions yachts and vessels design, 
optimization and analysis, and is currently developing internally, 
through its laboratory, and for external clients, efficient and disruptive 
solutions which aims at decarbonizing the nautical and maritime industries.

Caponnetto Hueber provides innovative services in fluid dynamics, using 
high-end methodologies and tools for naval architects, yacht designers, 
shipyards and ship owners to improve design, performances and efficiency, to 
lower consumptions and emissions.

Caponnetto Hueber is currently setting up an innovation and technological 
Laboratory and is 
consolidating the R&D group dedicated at developing innovations to 
decarbonize the nautical and maritime industries. The aim topics of research 
- Foiling yachts concepts and solutions for 0-emission yachts
- Wind Assisted Ship Propulsion (WASP) systems and efficiency predictions

Main current projects:
- R&D, innovative concepts and solutions
- Flying electric boat design and flight control
- Flying racing electric boat and foils design
- Racing and sailing yachts hydrodynamics and CFD
- Wind Assisted Ship Propulsion devices design, analysis and integration. 
- Mega-yachts hydrodynamics and CFD
- Propellers design and hydrodynamics
The company is currently expanding its workforce and is willing to integrate 
motivated and hardworking professionals who want to work in a competitive, 
high-technological and international sector.
The design office is located within the Marina of Valencia, Spain, in a 
former America’s Cup base.

- Naval architect specialized in Fluids Dynamics, Fluid Dynamicist, R&D 
Marine Engineer, or Marine related R&D projects coordinator with a strong 
background in hydrodynamics and CFD to join our design office to follow the 
development of conventional and unconventional yachts and ships projects as 
well as the company R&D projects.

- Naval architect, yacht designer or marine engineer with more than 4 years 
of experience in at least one of these fields:
o Naval architecture, design and optimization of flying boats.
o Naval architecture, design and optimization of motor yachts.
o Naval architecture, design and optimization of ships and WASP.
- Strong knowledge of hydrodynamics and CFD:
o You have been a CFD user or developer in a previous work experience.
o OR you have been working and interacting with CFD engineers to validate 
and improve your designs.

Job Description:
- You will lead the (or some) conceptual studies and design projects and 
will use and develop your creativity and engineer skills to develop, design 
and validate new concepts and innovative solutions (Design & Innovation). 
- You will analyze and criticize the results of the CFD studies and write 
comprehensive reports to help and guide the clients to improve their design 
or objectives (CFD). 
- You will be a key player in the R&D programs and in the innovation process 
- You will assist the commercial group to create and validate the commercial 
offers (Pre-Sales)
- You will have to be well organized and will be responsible of the 
technical documentations and its archiviation.
- You will work hand in hand with the Technical Director and be responsible 
of the coordination of your projects between the design office, the clients 
and the consultants. (ExternalCoordination).
- According to your experience and leadership skills, you may lead the 
company projects and be the coordinator of the technical group with direct 
connection with our Technical Director. In this case, you will be 
responsible of the planning, the allocation of the resources between 
Production, Development, Design and R&D, the deliverables, and the deadlines 
(Projects Coordination).

Technical Requirements (“MUST”):
- Deep knowledge of naval architecture and marine engineering.
- Deep knowledge of fluid dynamics.
- Good oral and written communication, management and organizational skills.
- General knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD.
- General knowledge of structure, pre-dimensioning, mechanics and systems.

Technical Skills Appreciated (“PLUS”):
- Experienced with project management and coordination.
- Experienced with Agile, Scrum or Sigma Project Management.
- Deep knowledge of motor yachts, yacht design, propulsion and propellers.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Wind Assisted Ship Propulsion systems.
- Experience and/or knowledge of foils and flying boats design.
- Experienced with yacht stability and certification.
- Good Knowledge of Star-CCM+ or Open-Foam for naval applications.
- Good Knowledge in programming and automatization using Python and Excel.

Other Requirements (“MUST”):
- English is compulsory as it is the working language at the office.
- Hold an EU Passport or work Visa.
- Be able to relocate to Valencia, Spain
- Dynamic, pro-active and problem solver to lead and guide the technical

- Autonomous and responsible to be fully in charge of your own projects.
- Curious, passionate, eager to learn and to push your knowledge.
- Humble and able to work within an international team.

Other Requirements (“PLUS”):
- Spanish, Italian and/or French fluency would be useful.

One of the key objectives of this position, is to assist and to give support 
to our Technical Director, from a technical, organization and management 
point of view, and as a consequence, to coordinate the activities and 
projects you will be working on. 
Depending on your technical and leadership skills, experience and 
motivation, various evolution will be possible either within the consultancy 
group or the R&D Laboratory:
- Senior or Principal designer
- Design and CFD projects coordinator and/or leader
- R&D projects coordinator and/or leader
- Office Manager
