The Johns Hopkins University is seeking highly qualified candidates for two post-doctoral 
research fellowships. The successful candidates will perform unique studies of hypersonic 
boundary layers. They will develop data assimilation and machine-learning techniques to 
interpret sparce sensor data. The effort involves high-performance simulations of hypersonic 
flows, variational methods, and machine learning of complex operators from data. The 
researchers will work collaboratively with other members of the Flow Science and Engineering 
Group (Prof. T. Zaki) and the Turbulence Research Group (Prof. C. Meneveau) at Johns Hopkins 

1. Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, or 
related engineering or science discipline

2. Prior experience and contributions in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Direct Numerical 
Simulations, variational methods, transition physics, scientific computing, and data science 
and machine learning.
