Job Description: SIMULIA CFD Solver Development Senior Engineer

The Fluids solver development group in SIMULIA  has an immediate opening for a 
full-time software developer to contribute to the continued development of our 
world-class finite-volume CFD solver for mainstream markets. The solver is fully 
integrated into our 3DEXPERIENCE design platform and offers users a seamless 
experience, which integrates CFD with design, multi-physics simulation, 
optimization, data management and business intelligence applications within the 
3DEXPERIENCE platform. The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong 
understanding of fluid mechanics, combined with significant programming 
experience in numerical techniques applied to commercial CFD solver development. 
The position is primarily based at our Johnston, Rhode Island, USA office. 

Responsibilities:
-Maintain and improve the core segregated implicit flow solver for 
incompressible and compressible flows in terms of stability and convergence 
behavior
-Assist with continued development of the pressure-based coupled implicit solver 
for various physics models and boundary conditions
-Improve the performance and scalability of the family of linear solvers for 
single-node and distributed parallel computing resources including CPUs and GPUs
-Investigate and implement approaches to improve the robustness of the solvers 
for poor-quality meshes
-Assist with debugging solver issues with customer/benchmark cases
-Investigate development of adjoint methods in the solver 

Requirements:
-Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Physics
-Strong background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer
-5+ years’ experience in commercial CFD software development with a focus on 
core solver numerics in finite volume methods
-Good understanding of linear solver techniques
-Excellent C++ and MPI programming skills applied to high-performance CFD 
software development
-Good written and verbal English knowledge
-Strong mathematical and analytical skills
