The computational fluid dynamics lab in the Mechanical Eng. Department at the University of North Texas (UNT) has several openings in Fall 2021 for MS/Ph.D. students to conduct research on various topics including turbulent two-phase free-surface flows, FSI based on immersed boundary methods, bubble dynamics, active flow control mechanisms, stochastic modeling and uncertainty quantification (UQ), and high-performance computing methodology. More information about the CFD lab and research activities can be found at: https://cfd.engineering.unt.edu/home https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_ytqIWitu-yPsTzhMKnrdw/videos Candidate must have excellent algorithm development skills and experience related to developing CFD software packages using Fortran/C/C++ and script programming languages. Strong skills and experience in high-performance computing using MPI/OpenMP and post-processing software development tools are desired.
