Graduate student positions in Mechanical Engineering are available from Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 in the research group of Prof. Matveev at Washington State University. http://legacy.mme.wsu.edu/~matveev/
US citizenship is required! (Outstanding applicants from NATO countries may be considered.)
The graduate student(s) will work in one or several areas:
1. Hydrodynamic analysis of advanced marine vehicles (high-speed, amphibious, multi-hulled, semi-submersible, etc.) using commercial CFD software and in-house/open-source reduced-order models.
2. Design, construction and experimentation with small autonomous (possibly transformable) vehicles in various domains (water surface, underwater, land, air), in various modes (track, trail, detect, manipulate, etc.), and with various equipment (robotic arms, sensors, cameras, etc.).
3. Numerical modeling of cryogenic hydrogen systems. (Collaboration with experimental cryogenics group at WSU is possible.)
Send your CV/Resume to Prof. Matveev (matveev@wsu.edu). Background in CFD, Marine Craft, and/or Robotics is highly desirable.
