Position description
Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Fellow positions in wind engineering, 
computational fluid dynamics, and bluff body aerodynamics. The successful 
applicants will be part of an active research team led by Dr. Gang Hu, 
Associate Professor in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Harbin 
Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, China. You will also work closely with the 
reputable wind engineering teams from The University of Sydney and The Hong 
Kong University of Science and Technology.
Harbin Institute of Technology is a top research university and a member of 
China's elite C9 League. HIT is a Chinese Ministry of Education Class A Double 
First Class University. HIT is consistently ranked as one of the top 
universities in the country with a focus on science and engineering. HIT was 
ranked 6th in the Best Global Universities for Engineering by U.S. News in 
2017-2020. HIT is one of the only handful of universities in the world that 
have designed, built, and launched their own satellites and it excels at 
missile technology. It has three campuses, spanning the country from north to 
south: the Harbin campus in Heilongjiang Province, the Weihai campus in 
Shandong Province and the Shenzhen campus in Guangdong Province. If the 
application is successful, he/she will work based on Shenzhen Campus. Shenzhen 
is a leading global technology hub, dubbed by media as the next Silicon Valley 
and China's Silicon Valley. Shenzhen ranks 9th in the 2019 Global Financial 
Centres Index and it has the third busiest container port in the world.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will mainly work on the following field:
	Wind effects on structures 
	Application of machine learning and deep learning in wind engineering 
and fluid mechanics
	Fluid-structure interactions
	Numerical simulation of flow around bluff bodies using CFD models

Qualifications
	A PhD degree (or near completed) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical 
Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Applied Mathematics; 
	Ability to perform independent research and a commitment to 
interdisciplinary research;
	Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by 
presentation of research results at conferences and through publications;
	Excellent programming skills (Python, Matlab…)
	Experiences with wind engineering and machine learning are desired but 
not essential. 

Salary package
The salary and benefits are internationally competitive and commensurate with 
each candidate's experience.
	Basic salary is RMB220K-260K/annual; 
	Foreign passport (some) holder could apply for tax exemption;
	Medical insurance package, pension and other staff benefits;
	House renting allowance every month.
In addition, the applicant satisfies one of the following conditions can apply 
‘Overseas high-level talent program’ of Shenzhen government. Once successful, 
he/she will obtain totally 1.6 million subsidy after tax. This subsidy will pay 
320K each year to the successful applicant for 5 years.  
	Published 3 papers in JCR Q1 journals as the first author or 
corresponding author;
	Having more than 2 years overseas postdoc experience and published 1 
paper in JCR Q2 journal as the first author or corresponding author;
	Obtained a PhD degree from global top 100 universities within 5 years.
