The Lab of aerosol transport in the biological and environmental fluids at the 
Huazhong university of sicience and techonology has Ph.D. openings in the fields 
of computational fluid dynamics/fluid mechanics. The selected candidate will be 
recommended to apply for the china 
government sholarship.

The Ph.D. student will choose one of the topic related to respiratory flow in 
the subject of indoor/outdoor envionmental flow, biomedical 
engineering/biological fluid and the multiple phase flows in the aircraft. 

Required qualifications:
-	A BS or MS degree in fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering, atmoshpere 
science, environmental science and technology, mathematics, physics, or other 
closely related 
-	A strong background in numerical methods, mathematical modeling 
(especially differential equations), and fluid dynamics
-	Experience in developing numerical models and computational algorithms
-	Strong hands-on experience with programming in Fortran, C/C++, Python, 
MATLAB, or other languages
-	Strong motivation to perform cutting-edge research and to publish high-
impact papers. 

Preferred qualifications:
-	Experience with parallel computing (e.g. MPI) 
-	Experience with machine learning in Python or other languages.
-	Proficiency in Linux computing environment
-	In-depth knowledge of turbulence, hydraulics, and dynamics
-	Publication in an internationally recognized journal

Experience with OpenFoam/Fluent, WRF will be a plus.
