Hi guys,
I am doing 3D LES of combustion-related problems and I am using Tecplot to visualize the results. Does anyone know whether is possible to operate with the variables? I mean, for instance, if you have the velocity components (u,v,w) is there any way you can calculate: u*u // v*v // w*w or any other mathematical operations such as u_=u/u_ref // v_=v/v_ref // w_=w/w_ref where "u,v,w_ref" is a constant. Thanks a lot, Daniel |

One thing you could do is to define those functions in the software you're simulating.

You could use Tecplot's "Specify Equations" option under "Data" > "Alter" > "Specify Equations"

Hi Cesar,
Yes, that's an idea, but I'd have to run all the simulations again. I have already included this in the code and all the new simulations will contain it, but I'm trying to obtain these variables from the old ones. Thanks anyway, Daniel |

Hi,
Thanks for your replay. I'm gonna try out this option you mention. Thanks Daniel |

Hi Christopher,
I tried what you said and it works perfectly fine, besides that is pretty straighforward to implement. Thanks a lot, daniel |

Tecplot seems to be very strong in this area. I have used these data functions a lot
