Hello,
I am trying to visualise a plot 3D grid file on tecplot. The mesh was generated using ICEM CFD 2020 and saved in plot 3D format. Just a note: the file extension from ICEM was '.fmt'. I changed this extension to '.xyz' to import it into tecplot. As you can see in the image attached, the loaded mesh file appears very distorted and am not sure why. Any guidance on this would be appreciated |

This distortion when viewing the mesh in Tecplot may be related to the axis scales being auto-adjusted.
To solve this issue, do the following (Tecplot 2019): 1. Select the menu Plot>Axis... 2. In the pop-up window, click on "X" to select the x-axis (on top of the window); 3. On the "Range" tab: 3.1. in "Dependency", select "XYZ dependent";4. click on the "Y" and "Z" from step 2 just to see if they are alredy configured. If not, ajust them. 5. click "Close" on the bottom and you're done. Last edited by CarlosLmes; July 12, 2023 at 08:23. |
