Hey again,
I am doing a CFD analysis of an axial turbomachine. For that I want to unwind a cylindrical cut through the machine, to analyse the flow around the blades. I have the outer surface of a cylinder and would like to display it unrolled. I already calculated the cylindrical coordinates based on x,y,z: r = sqrt(y^2+z^2) Theta = ATAN(z/y) If I display this in tecplot, the image is distorted. Does anyone have a better idea? |

The best way of doing this is to display an isosurface of theta or R at your desired location. Then extract it, and if necessary switch to R, theta as your axis variables. Or some combination of those steps as required as I'm not 100% clear as to what state your data is currently in.

Okay, it worked now. You have to delete the values at the beginning and the end of the cylinder, so plot --> blanking..
But there is my next problem --> Streamtraces Is there a possibility to visualise these streamtraces on the new surface? By assgning the coorinates to the vector variable it does not work . Last edited by panasonic18; November 10, 2020 at 08:08. |
