Hello everyone!
I'm a new member in our CFD online forum. I captured the fluid motion along axial direction of a rod bundle using PIV technique. After image processing, i got continuous sets of data which contains the information of local velocity: "x" "y" "u" and "v" I created Tecplot 360 input for each set and join them together using "Zone". However, there is a boundary between each zone that i couldn't erase. I already attached my sample drawing. You can see the boundary between zones. I would like to ask our members some questions as the following: 1) What is the best method to combine all set of data (~20 sets) together and plot one contour map with continuity (no boundary between data)? 2) If there is no other method than what i did then how to erase the boundary between zones Thank you everyone I 'm looking forward to seeing your help. It sounds like your dataset has multiple zones. At the junction between zones there can be slight value differences at the coincident nodes. I see three options:
1) It's a bit of work, but you can inform Tecplot that these junctions should be treated as continuous by supplying "face neighbor" information in the data file. This is the hardest option. 2) Create a new IJ-Ordered zone, using I & J dimensions to match total dimensions of your mesh and use linear interpolation. 3) Do a 2D Triangulation of the data. This will take the source zones and create a single continuous zone, but can introduce a bias due to triangular cells instead of quadrilaterals. If you have active maintenance you can always contact us at support@tecplot.com for additional help. Regards, Scott Fowler Tecplot Product Manager |
