Dear all,

I am newbie to tec plot and please bare with my stupid questions.
I have did LE simulation over a flat plate and my main aim is to find the transition region. I am struggling to generate results using tecplot. If someone could guide me it would be of great help. The questions are

1. I would like to get a time averaged shear stress along the flat plate ( I tried analysis -> perform integration -> time strands, but the result generated was not appropriate )

2. I would like to generate the result image like the one I have attached.

If any one could give some suggestion will be of great help., especially I am more concentrated on the point 1 (about time averaged results )

Kind regards,
Kumar

From what I can see in your picture, I would say that you should represent iso-contours of the Q-criterion (they can be easily computed) .

Cheers

Hi Cymbourne,

Thank you so much for the reply. Do I have to create Q-Criterion during simulation or after? Do you know how to setup in Fluent?

have a look at this paper:
http://georgehaller.com/reprints/vortex.pdf

It depends on what code you are using... (I'd need more information on that) you can create it both during and after the simulation

Cheers

Hi,

Thank you for your reply again. I am using Ansys Fluent.
