Hi,

I'm trying to work with fluent 14.5 results in Tecplot 360,

So I was importing the case and data files through the fluent data loader without a problem, but then I wanted to to some stream traces through a zone starting from an interior wall in my model, and then I realised that the interior walls had not been imported.

I then tried exporting the fluent data as a tecplot data file, this way the zones were all successfully imported, however it seems that my volumes have been interpreted as surfaces because I cannot produce volume stream traces through them, and in the zone styles dialogue I can't activate streamtrace functionality (it just says n/a).

I'm sure I'm missing something simple... can anyone help?

Hi Sean,

I suspect you may have tried this, but did you check the zonestyle dialog and make sure all the zones were active? Also we updated the Fluent loader recently to address a few issues with changes in the 14.5 format and the fix is in 360 EX 2014 R2. What version are you running?

Durrell

Hey Durrell,

thanks for getting back to me

I checked the zones, all active, the interior walls were not showing up. I'm using 2013 R1, so maybe an upgrade would solve the issue. What I tried last night and is working for my purpose is combining the data, using the fluent data loader and then exporting the interior walls as a tecplot data file from FLUENT
