Hello Everyone,
I would like to linearly interpolate the file attached below on a rectangular zone having the same extrema as the x/T and z/T of the file. To create the rectangular zone I do: Data --> Create Zone --> Rectangular I=350, J=350 XMin=-2, XMax=4.75 YMin=-1.5,YMax=1.5 To attach the file to the zone I do: Data --> Interpolate --> Linear but i cannot choose my dataset as a Source Zone. How can I solve this problem? The Problem arises only with Linear Interpolation. Indeed, I can do both Inverse-Distance interpolation and Kriging. Any explanation is appreciated, Thanks in advance, Z |

The Tecplot 360 user manual http://download.tecplot.com/360/current/360_users_manual.pdf on page 282 states:
Use the Linear Interpolation dialog to interpolate data from one or more ordered or finite element zones onto a destination zone. Irregular I-ordered data cannot be used for the source zones in linear interpolation. I believe the data set you supply has 1-D dimensionality (it is only I ordered), so Tecplot does not know how to linear interpolate from 1-D to 2-D (so it does not offer you the option). Scott |
